Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign released a new ad Monday, with First Lady Casey DeSantis offering a heartfelt tribute to her husband for caring for her when she was diagnosed with cancer.

The governor’s office first announced the first lady’s breast cancer diagnosis last October, with Casey undergoing chemotherapy and surgery in the following months. In March, DeSantis shared a video message announcing that Casey was officially cancer-free, RSBN reported.

In the one-minute ad, the first lady revealed how Ron DeSantis provided strength and support for their family during those difficult months.

“I get asked all the time, who is Ron DeSantis?” the first lady began. “He’s the kid who grew up right here in Florida, working his tail off, paying his own way through school, then volunteering to serve in the Navy and deploying to Iraq. He’s the man who I fell in love with from the moment we met. And he’s the dad of three very rambunctious, energetic children—Mamie our two-year-old little comedian; Madison, our beautiful, sweet five-year-old; and Mason, our four-year-old athlete.”

“But if you want to know who Ron DeSantis really is,” she continued. “When I was diagnosed with cancer, and I was facing the battle for my life, he was the dad who took care of my children when I couldn’t. He was there to pick me off the ground when I literally could not stand. He was there to fight for me when I didn’t have the strength to fight for myself. That is who Ron DeSantis is.”

DeSantis shared the ad across his social media platforms, writing, “I love you, Casey.”

The campaign also released an emotional ad in September, showcasing Floridians’ gratitude for the governor’s outstanding leadership, which boosted the economy, allowed businesses to remain open when the rest of the nation shut down, and much more, per RSBN.

The narrator of the ad states:

“You saved our jobs and kept us going. They tried to shut us down, but you saved our business. You had our backs and honored our service. You led by facts, not fear, and you let us decide. You let me go to school. You gave me a voice. You put us first and didn’t let them keep us apart. You let us learn. You let us compete – all of us. You protected our right to worship together in person, and you raised our pay. You protected our waters and kept Florida beautiful. When they attacked you, you didn’t cave. You stood strong for Florida. Thank you, Governor DeSantis.”

The campaign also showcased DeSantis’s fierce stance against the corporate media in the infamous “Top Gun” inspired ad featuring his son, Mason.
