SpaceX CEO Elon Musk launched a political action committee on Saturday to support President Donald Trump’s campaign for president.
The America PAC was announced on the same day that Musk spoke at Trump’s Butler rally before an estimated 100,000 people and millions of online views.
“This is the PAC that I created to support candidates who believe in the core values of America,” Musk posted to X on Saturday. The post has already garnered 11.6 million views.
The PAC, featured on X at the username @America, stated, “Americans care about issues that impact their daily lives,” listing secure borders, sensible spending, safe cities, a fair justice system, free speech and self-protection.
“America PAC was created to support these key values & leaders who fight for them,” it added.
The group specifically seeks to register one million voters in the seven key swing states in the election. A petition at its website states, “The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments.”
The petition includes an incentive of $47 for registered voted referred in swing states by Oct. 21.
The PAC also offers paid opportunities for workers to help increase voter registration and turnout starting at $30 per hour. Additional bonuses are mentioned based on performance.
“President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution,” Musk said in his Butler speech on Saturday. “He must win to preserve democracy in America.”
“This one request,” Musk said. “It’s very important. Register to vote and get everyone you know and everyone you don’t know — drag them to register to vote.”
Musk, the owner of SpaceX, the X social media platform and Tesla, is ranked as the world’s richest person. Previously a supporter of Democrats, Musk publicly supported Trump following the Butler assassination attempt.
The well-known entrepreneur has since interviewed Trump and spoken out on his behalf regularly in his social media posts. His PAC is yet another effort to increase support in what Musk believes is a vital battle related to the future of free speech.
