Op-Ed: After so many leftist hoaxes, it’s no wonder conservatives are questioning the Ilhan Omar attack

Racial division is easy news. Most Americans decry racism and hate crimes. It is one of the most unifying topics. Conservatives support the Constitution and the inherent human rights of American citizens. But in recent years, hate crime hoaxes have eroded trust in corporate mainstream reporting. Political theatre has become so theatrical that it’s difficult to know what’s real and what’s not anymore.

After years of false reports and massive mainstream hate crime hoaxes being discovered, connecting the dots displays an unbalanced number of democrats who emotionally manipulate the public by faking hate crimes for publicity. So it is no wonder that conservatives are now questioning a recent attack on an incredibly divisive political figure: Rep. Ilhan Omar, R-Minn.

Omar is currently under investigation for federal funding fraud, according to Resist The Mainstream. The Somali immigrant has been criticized for publicly speaking about putting Somalia before the United States, and The Center for Immigration Studies confirmed that her American citizenship may not be valid, as it is unclear whether or not she illegally married her brother to come to the U.S. and gain citizenship.

Now, conservatives aren’t all buying that she was attacked just as her fraud investigation is heating up. Social media is buzzing with questions and comments examining the attack, where  55-year-old Anthony James Kazmierczak sprayed an unknown substance on her during a speech Tuesday night.

Instead of reacting like she may have been sprayed with a harmful chemical, Omar watched the man be carried away by security and then continued her speech. No one in the crowd was examined either.

While Fox News confirmed that the substance was apple cider vinegar, Omar’s reaction does seem staged. If she knew nothing of the substance, why wasn’t she more concerned? It could have been a bio weapon. It could have been acid. Yet she acts as if she knows that it is not harmful.

Even President Donald Trump questioned the validity of this attack occurring at such a convenient time to distract from Omar’s legal scrutiny. He reportedly told an ABC News reporter,  “She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her,” per the Washington Examiner

Other Republican leaders have decried the attack and pointed out that it is never justified to attack anyone in any way, reminding us all just how sensitive these scenarios are.

But the scrutiny continues because conservatives have been called racist for years, just for existing, and we have lived through hoax after hoax after hoax. We watched actor Jussie Smollett cry about being attacked by white MAGA supporters, and then we witnessed the investigation uncover that Smollett hired two Nigerian brothers to dress up like Trump supporters and stage an attack. He was charged and sent to prison, and then the charges were later overturned, because, as we’ve seen time and time again, actors and politicians get treated differently by judges in blue states.

In Colorado, three people were charged for staging a hate crime hoax in a political race, to bolster support for a black candidate by burning a cross in his yard and spraying racial slurs on his property. The Department of Justice discovered multiple communications between the suspects and the candidate about the “Black ops style big brother” event, and plans to blame the “attack” on his opponent, who was white.

Then there’s the Russian Collusion hoax, where top Democrats colluded to frame President Donald Trump for involving Russian leadership in the 2016 Presidential election. The Russian Collusion hoax dealt a huge blow to the public trust of Democrats, yet there are still some Americans who believe that the hoax was real, even as National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard confirmed and declassified documents implicating the Obama administration, which was in power at the time, in the scheme to destroy trust in the 2016 November election, where President Trump smoked opponent Hillary Clinton.

All across the nation, other small-scale hate crime hoaxes have been carried out to the point that political scientist Wilfred Reilly even wrote a book about it, via the Manhattan Institute

So it’s no wonder that the public doesn’t trust strange attacks with strange reactions carried out under strange circumstances. Like the boy who cried wolf, conservatives have trouble now trusting democrats who immediately blame President Trump and his supporters.

Omar herself has already blamed Trump and called his comments regarding her questionable behavior “hateful rhetoric,” per NBC News. Whether hate crime narratives will continue to swirl into another big media frenzy is uncertain, but regardless of what anyone believes, the incident should be investigated to the full extent.
