President Donald Trump is notorious for his competitive nature and zealous appetite for “winning, winning, winning.”
On Wednesday night during Fox News’ live Iowa town hall, the 45th president reassured the country that “success” remains the focus for his second term.
Trump’s emphasis on moving the nation forward was prompted by concerns listed by Fox moderator Bret Baier.
Regarding a second term, Baier asked Trump how much of his time would be fixed on “retribution” and “looking backward” at past injustices committed against him instead of onward progress.
In response, “Well, first of all, a lot of people would say that’s not so bad,” said Trump.
Then, he recited numerous scandals of which he was the victim, including the: “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, FBI/Twitter hoax; the 51 intelligence agents hoax.”
Moreover, the Republican frontrunner stated that many people would determine it “normal” to right those wrongs. However, according to him, he’s “not going to have time for retribution.”
“We’re going to make this country so successful again I’m not going to have time for retribution,” said Trump. “Our ultimate retribution is success,” he added.
Uniquely, President Trump is the only GOP candidate with a record of presidential achievements. So, it is not surprising that highlights of the promises he once delivered while in the White House have become key reminders of his proven ability to accomplish difficulties.
Meanwhile, during the Fox News event, a debate between Trump rivals Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley aired on CNN.
Before the start of both programs, reports of former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie potentially exiting the race began to make the news. Those suspicions were later confirmed at a town hall hosted by the candidate himself in New Hampshire.
In the days ahead, President Trump plans to speak to more Iowans to win their vote at the Iowa Caucus on Jan. 15, 2024.
