President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will begin interacting with his followers on Truth Social soon and will not be returning to Twitter.

With Elon Musk reaching a $44 billion agreement with Twitter’s board of directors on Monday to purchase the social media company and transition to private ownership, many Americans have called on Musk to reinstate Trump’s Twitter account.

Musk has not publicly disclosed whether or not he would consider reinstating the 45th president’s Twitter account. However, Trump does not appear interested in returning to the platform he once utilized to share his message with the American people and the world.

After news broke of the deal between Musk and Twitter, Trump told Fox News, “I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH.”

“We’re taking in millions of people,” Trump continued, “And what we’re finding is that the response on TRUTH is much better than being on Twitter.”

While Trump does not plan on returning to Twitter, he told Fox News he believes Musk will “make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”

Trump also told CNBC, “I will be on Truth Social within the week. It’s on schedule.”

Truth Social experienced a massive waitlist after the app launched on the Apple app store due to the major influx of users. However, the company recently announced major upgrades and improvements that have allowed more users to join Truth Social.

With Trump expected to begin interacting with his followers this week, Truth Social is once again soaring in the app store.

Trump explained, “TRUTH is a platform for my voice and for my supporters.” However, he added, “I want everybody to come over to TRUTH—conservatives, liberals, whatever.”

Free speech has been central to Trump’s message ever since the launch of his 2016 presidential campaign. Truth Social protects each individual’s freedom of speech instead of censoring content like liberal social media platforms.

While millions of conservative Americans would love to see the 45th president return to Twitter, Trump has made it crystal clear, “The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter.”
