President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, has experienced a massive uptick in growth following the FBI’s shocking raid on his Mar-a-Lago home. According to a report from The Epoch Times, Truth Social’s downloads swelled by almost 550 percent in the week following the raid, ballooning to around 13,400 daily downloads.

Truth Social was launched in February, positioning itself as a free speech platform to compete with the rampant censorship policies of “Big Tech” sites.

In August, a survey conducted at CPAC in Dallas, Texas, with McLaughlin & Associates further revealed that 48 percent of respondents indicated that they preferred using Truth Social over other platforms, making it the runner-up to Facebook.

According to The Epoch Times report, President Trump himself has also experienced an increase in his followers on Truth Social, jumping from 3.7 million to 3.9 million since the FBI raided his home.

Public interest in President Trump’s statements following the raid has steadily increased. Users who join Truth Social can immediately access Trump’s statements and updates regarding the ongoing investigation.

In fact, even the federal judge in the case to unseal the affidavit used in the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago, Bruce Reinhart, has cited “public interest” as a reason for at least partially unsealing the document, per RSBN.

Furthermore, Truth Social has become fiercely competitive in the social media arena. CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, Devin Nunes, recently told RSBN that so far, Truth Social is “about halfway through all the features we want to build out this year. So, features will just continue to roll out as we build.”

In February, Truth Social burst onto the Apple App Store and hit number one, even edging out the established but highly censored social media platform, Twitter.
