First Lady Melania Trump responded on Saturday to a recent report from Raw Story claiming that she is being investigated for “skirting charity laws” in Florida.
Mrs. Trump responded to the “dishonest reporting,” on Twitter, adding “Everything has been done lawfully, & all documents are in the works. Read with caution – typical corrupt media.”
The Raw Story article alleges that Mrs. Trump was engaging in dubious activity surrounding her charitable fundraising work, but the First Lady strongly refuted these claims.
“We are working w/Bradly Impact Fund, a Donor Advised Fund, to select charities that will receive the donations to foster children,” she elaborated in her statement on Twitter.
Melania Trump also made headlines last week for inking an exclusive arrangement with the social media website, Parler. Parler announced that Mrs. Trump will have “exclusive communications” on their platform.
The First Lady made this statement about her partnership with Parler:
“I am excited and inspired by free speech platforms that give direct communication to people worldwide. Parler has been on the forefront of utilizing Web3 technology and empowers its users to foster productive discourse.”
In January, Melania Trump posted a photo on Twitter of her and Dr. Ben Carson, who donated books to her charitable foundation, which provides literature to foster children. “It was wonderful to join you to read your new book ‘Why America Matters,’” she stated, adding the hashtag of her White House initiative called “Be Best.”
While in the White House, the First Lady utilized “Be Best” to “focus on some of the major issues facing children today, with the goal of encouraging children to BE BEST in their individual paths, while also teaching them the importance of social, emotional, and physical health,” according to the official White House archives.
Melania Trump’s devotion to charitable causes, particularly those that benefit children, have remained unwavering in her time both in and out of the Oval Office. The latest “dishonest reporting” from the media regarding her charitable work is hardly surprising, given the way the press has scrutinized and attacked the entire Trump family for the last several years.
