President Donald Trump on Friday affirmed his support for mothers and fathers in pursuit of parenthood, which he called the “ultimate joy in life,” in South Carolina. The president spoke on the issue of in vitro fertilization (IVF), which was recently put in jeopardy in Alabama following a controversial court ruling, via The Hill.
President Trump addressed the IVF issue during a “Get Out the Vote Rally” in Rock Hill, South Carolina, just one day before the South Carolina GOP primary election. He said that he supported the creation of “strong, healthy, American families.”
He said, “We want to make it easier for mothers and fathers to have babies.” He noted that this included “supporting the availability for fertility treatments like IVF in every state!”
Trump continued, “I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious, little beautiful baby!”
His comments drew big cheers and agreement from the crowd. The president further stated that he was calling on the Alabama legislature to find an “immediate solution” to ensure the IVF procedures would be protected for prospective parents in the state of Alabama.
He declared that the Republican Party would always be on “the side of the miracle of life and the side of mothers and fathers and BEAUTIFUL little babies!”
“IVF is an important part of that and our great Republican Party will always be with you in your quest to find that ULTIMATE JOY IN LIFE…a beautiful, healthy, wonderful baby!” he concluded.
His comments about the controversial Alabama court ruling and IVF treatment came shortly after he released a very similar statement on Truth Social preceding his speech in South Carolina.
